Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH iseverlasting strength.  Isaiah 26:3-4  

Oh, to experience the “perfect peace” that is promised from our Gracious God on a continual basis!  This is the promise, this is God’s guarantee to every believer.  But the condition is that his “mind” must be “stayed on thee.”  I cannot experience true and lasting peace when my mind is filled with the trials and troubles and fears and temptations and allurements and . . . the stuff of this life!  I find that if I don’t take time for my mind to focus on God and His promises, I quickly see His peace vanish and the anxieties of this life taking its place.

Our mind can only be fixed on God when we “trust” in God, when we believe and claim His Word to us.  It is a perfect peace.  It is the peace that Christ promised when He said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”  John 14:27 

We live in a world that increasingly knows nothing of peace, especially the peace that only God can give.  A peace that begins the moment one puts his trust in the shed blood of Christ, the Prince of Peace.
